We must continually preach repentance, hear about repentance and actually repent because that it is so easy for us to allow our sins to beset us, so easy for us to become defensive about the evil that we may do, and so easy to decide us to call wrong right.

The more out-of-wedlock sex we have in our communities, the more out-of-wedlock pregnancies and births, the more female headed households, the more incarcerated young males, the fewer men available for marriage, and thus the more out-of-wedlock sex. And so the cycle goes. Biblical morality, particularly as it pertains to sexuality, is not just an arbitrary admonition from God; it is the very real solution to our social problems.

The simple reason that we should devote ourselves to living by Christian principles is that the end time is coming, and we don’t want to be caught off guard. Sin of every form distracts us from being watchful, and dealing with the negative consequences of sin will have us looking the other way as the Day of the Lord comes upon us. Jesus is telling us that it is wise of us to be obedient to the Bible, which is the doctrine of Jesus Christ, in an informed, insightful and intelligent manner, so that we do not miss the signs that the end of time is coming.

You cannot bring abominations to God and expect Him to accept you because you don’t want to be embarrassed in front of your peers. Jesus Christ died in front of His disciples and His enemies; He gave His life rather than knuckle under to the peer pressure, and we have to have the same mindset if we want to stay at His wedding.

Joseph had faith in God. Not intellectual faith or theoretical faith, but actual faith. When God spoke to Joseph, even through an angel and even in a dream, Joseph had faith in that which God said.

The Scripture indicates that a child should honor both of his or her parents. The designation of both mother and father in the commandment along with the Scripture references about marriage leads me to the conclusion that the designation of honor is, in part, determined by marital status. Fathers and mothers are meant to be honored in the context of the family unit.
