Peter informed the Gentile Christians that circumcision was unnecessary for those who believe in the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. But Peter changed his tune and Paul opposed Peter and the Judaizing Christians to their faces when the Judaizing Christians came to instruct the Gentiles Christians that they did need to be circumcised.

The key to salvation is that we remember that salvation was accomplished for us on Calvary’s Cross by the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by His suffering and death, paid the penalty that we owe for the sins that we have committed. The devil wants mankind to want to reject that fact, and to take at least partial credit for our own salvation due to the good works that we have done.

After the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, forgiveness of sin and atonement with God is no longer dependent on a Jewish animal sacrifice as it was in our earlier readings in the Old Testament. The entire Old Testament system of animal sacrifices for sin has been replaced by the human sacrifice of Jesus Christ; a sacrifice not to be offered repeatedly because of a period of uncleanness after a discharge of blood, but having been offered on Calvary’s Cross once for all.

The combination of the strength and the understanding of an honorable man and the gentle and quiet spirit of a beautiful, chaste woman make for a combination that the Lord loves and blesses in family situations. And men that know how to treat women want strong, understanding husbands for their daughters.

Once God gives us His instructions, He says, “It’s up to you. You can either have faith in Me or not. If you demonstrate faith and follow My instructions, you will live well. If you fail to demonstrate faith and disobey My instructions, you will live poorly, and then you will die.”
