God does not command us to feel an emotion. God commands us to act; to give ourselves to one another sacrificially, even as He gave His Son to us sacrificially. The emotion that we colloquially call love is our reward for giving ourselves.

We don’t have to perform any ritual to make up for that which we have done, because the Blood of Jesus Christ has paid the penalty for all that we have done. All we have to do is to repent and return to loving God and our neighbor.

If we want to successfully maintain our Christian walk, we need to study the Word of God and spend time with God in prayer to become confident in His truth, and we cannot allow suggestions of doubt from the world to distract us from the truths of God.
