Jesus died for the sins of all men, regardless of their ethnic group, their racial heritage, their national origin or their religious affiliation. Jesus Christ is the great common denominator between men; He is the one by which we all must be saved.

We are preparing for another life in heaven after this life on earth, and that our dominion will not end on Planet Earth, but will carry on to our eternal life if we conform ourselves to the Plan of the Lord Jesus Christ and use our earthly experiences to learn the principles that the Lord teaches us in His Word. But if we don’t learn to love here, we can forget about dominion over there.

If we are looking for guidelines as to how we should live, these laws tell us that which God said will please Him the most. God does not give us His Laws arbitrarily, just to see how tough He can be on us, but benevolently, so that by following His laws our lives will be improved.

Those that do not believe in God do not have a reason to disbelieve; they have simply made the choice to not believe in spite of the abundant evidence that God has interacted with our world, rather than because of any evidence to the contrary.

The Scripture indicates that a child should honor both of his or her parents. The designation of both mother and father in the commandment along with the Scripture references about marriage leads me to the conclusion that the designation of honor is, in part, determined by marital status. Fathers and mothers are meant to be honored in the context of the family unit.

Jesus Christ is the stone that the builders rejected, who, by not being jealous of His prerogative as the Son of God, but humbly sacrificing Himself on Calvary’s Cross rather than saying “Mine”, has become the chief cornerstone of the worship of God. Through the humility of Jesus Christ, the jealousy of the Jewish religious leadership has been exposed and finally rejected. Through the humility of Jesus Christ, the works of the devil are finally defeated, and the power of God is made manifest in the earth.

The praise of God, although delayed until His plan is completed, is better than the immediate gratification of the praise of men. The reward of God, although delayed until His plan is completed, is better than the immediate gratification in the reward of men. Belief in God’s plan, although His plan may be delayed, is better than the immediate gratification of belief in the plans of man. The authority of God, although delayed while He is completing His plan, is better than the puny authority of man.

Our personal discomforts, our personal self-consciousness, and our focus on the bad experiences in our history all combine to make us defensive. Once we become defensive, we find it difficult to allow ourselves to experience the joy that the Lord has for us in our relationships. Our defensiveness leads us into adversarial relationships with our spouses and draw us inexorably toward the dissolution of our marriages that we consciously do not want.
